Elementary School
at Waterdown Islamic School
A Holistic Education, Rooted in Faith
At Waterdown Islamic School, our elementary program (JK–Grade 5) is designed to nurture the whole child — academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
Our goal is to provide students with a well-rounded education where Qur’anic values and the Ontario curriculum work hand-in-hand to develop confident Muslim leaders.
“We don’t separate Islamic learning from academic learning — we blend them together in every subject and every moment.”
Integrated Islamic Learning
Our students grow up knowing who they are, deeply connected to their faith, and equipped with the tools to navigate the world with confidence.

The IASEP Framework
Our integrated curriculum is guided by our IASEP framework, which ensures your child develops across five key domains:

Islamic
- Building Steadfast Believers
Our foundation lies in nurturing a deep love for Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ. Through daily Qur’an, Sunnah, and worship practices, students build an unshakeable Islamic identity and compass to navigate life.

Academic
- Illuminating Minds with Knowledge
We combine the Ontario curriculum with Islamic values, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and a drive for excellence — all grounded in purpose and Islam.

Social
- Nurturing Principled Leaders
Our focus on adab, empathy, and real-world interaction develops students into confident, ethical communicators and leaders — modeling the character of the Prophet ﷺ in every action.

Emotional
- Fortifying Hearts with Resilience
Students learn to understand and manage their emotions through an Islamic lens. We prioritize emotional intelligence, mental well-being, and trust in Allah — preparing them to face life with strength and serenity.

Physical
- Fostering Physical Strength & Well-being
Physical education at WIS emphasizes fitness, balance, and self-care. Children learn that their bodies are an amanah — a trust from Allah — to be preserved and used in service of good.
We don’t just teach — we raise Muslim heroes equipped for both deen and dunya.
